Cookies and Other Tracking Mechanisms

We and our service providers use cookies and other tracking mechanisms to track information about your use of our Site or Services. We or our service providers may combine this information with other personal information we collect about you.

For example, we or our service providers may use cookies to track visitor activity on our Site. A cookie is a text file that a website transfers to your computer’s hard drive for record-keeping purposes. We or our service providers may use cookies to track user activities on our Site, such as the pages visited and time spent on our Site. Most browsers allow users to refuse cookies. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Visitors to our Site who disable cookies may not be able to browse certain areas of the Site.

We may also use Flash cookies. Our Services enable the use of the Adobe Flash Player. Your use of the Adobe Flash Player generates “Flash cookies,” also known as “persistent identification elements” or “local shared objects” (“LSOs”). The Adobe Flash Player (and similar applications) uses flash cookies to remember user settings, preferences and usage in a manner similar to the browser cookies referenced above. Flash cookies can store more information than browser cookies and are managed through a different interface than the one provided by your web browser. You can control the degree to which you accept flash cookies by accessing your Adobe Flash Player management tools directly through the settings manager for Adobe Flash. Users running the Windows operating system can generally view flash cookie files in this folder: Documents and Settings[username]Application DataMacromediaFlash Player. Users running the Apple operating system can generally view flash cookie files in this folder: /users/[username]/Library/Preferences/macromedia/Flash Player. Flash cookies, or LSO files are stored typically with an “.SOL” extension. If you do not allow flash cookies on your computer, you may not be able to take advantage of or participate in certain features of our Services.

You may opt out of certain of these cookies and other tracking mechanisms that are considered “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. To exercise the right to opt-out, you (or your authorized representative) may submit a request to us by using the Do Not Sell My Personal Information feature at the following link: https://my.threadbeast.com/dnsell/

Third-Party Analytics

We may use third-party analytics companies, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate use of our Site and Services. We or our service providers use these tools to help us understand use of, and to improve, our Site, Services, performance, and user experiences. These entities may use cookies and other tracking technologies, such as web beacons or local storage objects (“LSOs”), to perform their services.

Do Not Track Disclosure

Our Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals. Some web browsers and devices allow you to broadcast a preference that your activities online not be “tracked”. At this time, our Services do not take action in response to “do not track” signals. For more information about Do Not Track signals, please click here.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

Our Site does respond to Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals and does not sell or share the personal information of users with this specification. GPC is a setting that allows Internet users to notify businesses of their privacy preferences, such as whether or not they want their personal information to be sold or shared.

Third-Party Links

Our Site and Services may contain links to third-party websites and applications. Any access to and use of such linked websites and applications is not governed by this Privacy Policy but instead is governed by the privacy policies of those third parties. We are not responsible for the information practices of such third-party websites or applications.

Interest-Based Advertising

We use third parties such as network advertisers to serve advertisements on our Site and on third-party websites or other media (e.g., social networking platforms). This enables us and these third parties to target advertisements to you for products and services in which you might be interested. Third-party ad network providers, advertisers, sponsors and/or traffic measurement services may use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons (including clear GIFs), Flash LSOs and other tracking technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content to you. These third-party cookies and other technologies are governed by each third party’s specific privacy policy, not this one. We may provide these third-party advertisers with information, including personal information and contact information, about you.

You may opt out of many third-party ad networks. For example, you may go to the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) Consumer Choice Page for information about opting out of interest-based advertising and your choices regarding having information used by DAA companies. You may also go to the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) Consumer Opt-Out Page for information about opting out of interest-based advertising and your choices regarding having information used by NAI members. Additional information is available on the DAA’s website at www.aboutads.info or the NAI’s website at www.networkadvertising.org.

Opting out from one or more companies listed on the DAA Consumer Choice Page or the NAI Consumer Opt-Out Page will opt you out from those companies’ delivery of interest-based content or ads to you, but it does not mean you will no longer receive any advertising through our Site or on other websites. You may continue to receive advertisements, for example, based on the particular website that you are viewing (i.e., contextually based ads). If your browser is configured to reject cookies when you opt out on the DAA or NAI websites, your opt out may not be effective. Please note that if you use multiple devices you will have to opt out on each individual device.

Security

We have taken reasonable and appropriate administrative, technical, and physical steps to help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of your personal information. However, no data security measures can guarantee complete security. You should take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your device and account by, among other things, choosing a robust password that nobody else knows or can easily guess and keeping your log-in and password private. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or compromised passwords or for any activity on your account via unauthorized password activity.  If you believe there has been unauthorized activity on your account, please notify us as soon as possible.

Your Choices

Certain state and federal laws may grant you the following rights regarding your personal information.

Right to Know/Access and Data Portability

    • sales, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient purchased; and
    • disclosures for a business purpose, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient obtained.
  • The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you (also called a data portability request).

Right to Correct and Right to Delete

You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions (the “right to correct”).

You also have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions (the “right to delete”).

Exercising Your Rights to Know, Correct, or Delete

You may also exercise your right to delete described above by submitting a request via email at privacy@threadbeast.com. You may request that we delete your personal information in your Account, but please note that we may be required to keep this information and not delete it (or to keep this information for a certain time, in which case we will comply with your deletion request only after we have fulfilled such requirements). When we delete any information, it will be deleted from the active database, but may remain in our archives. We may retain your information for fraud prevention or similar purposes. For additional assistance with modifying or deleting information provided to our Services, contact us at privacy@threadbeast.com.

Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a request to know, correct, or delete related to your personal information.

You may only submit a request to know twice within a twelve (12)-month period. Your request to know, correct, or delete must:

  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information, which may include:
    • Verifying your name, email address, order number, and/or last four digits of your credit card number.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. You do not need to create an account with us to submit a request to know, correct, or delete. We will only use personal information provided in the request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make it. For instructions on exercising your sale opt-out or opt-in rights, see Personal Information Sales Opt-Out and Opt-In Rights.

Reviewing Your Request

Once we receive your request to correct or delete your personal information and confirm your identity, we will review your request to see if an exception allowing us to retain the information applies. We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service provider(s) to:

  1. Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a good or service that you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, fulfill the terms of a written warranty or product recall conducted in accordance with federal law, or otherwise perform our contract with you.
  2. Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for such activities.
  3. Debug products to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
  4. Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights, or exercise another right provided for by law.
  5. Comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code § 1546, et seq.).
  6. Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when the information’s deletion may likely render impossible or seriously impair the research’s achievement, if you previously provided informed consent.
  7. Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations based on your relationship with us.
  8. Comply with a legal obligation.
  9. Make other internal and lawful uses of that information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it.

We will delete or de-identify personal information not subject to one of these exceptions from our records and will direct our service providers to take similar action.

Response Timing and Format

We will confirm receipt of your request within ten (10) business days. If you do not receive confirmation within the ten (10)-day timeframe, please contact privacy@threadbeast.com.

We endeavor to substantively respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to another forty-five (45) days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.

If you have an account with us, we will deliver our written response to that account. If you do not have an account with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option.

Any disclosures we provide will only cover the twelve (12)-month period preceding our receipt of your request. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily usable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.

We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.
